The Vet Isn’t Done Yet

Kamaru Usman pulled out that vintage “Nigerian Nightmare” energy and put Joaquin Buckley through wrestling school for five rounds. Buckley had heart, no doubt, but Usman stayed glued to him like Velcro—ground control, pressure, textbook dominance. Post-fight, the man was emotional—three losses in a row had people writing him off, but this was his statement: I’m still him. Oh, and they walked away with Fight of the Night honors. Earned.

Rose is Rose Again

Thug Rose showed up with ice in her veins. Miranda Maverick almost snuck in a slick choke in round two, but Rose shook it off, stayed composed, and dropped her with a clean hook late. Now she’s 3‑2 at flyweight and knocking on that title door once again. Vintage Rose with a little extra grit.

Rest of the card Rundown

  • Edmen Shahbazyan finally stringing wins again. Outclassed Petroski and looked sharp doing it.

  • Phil Rowe with an amazing come from behind TKO. What a great performance.

  • Raoni Barcelos handed former champ Cody Garbrandt another “L.” Smart, clean fight.

  • Mansur Abdul‑Malik won on the scorecards after a clash of heads—odd ending, but he was ahead.

  • Alonzo Menifield did what he does: stayed composed and took the W against an undefeated Sy.

  • Paul Craig vs. Bellato turned messy. Craig threw an illegal upkick, Bellato hit the deck theatrically, and fans were not buying it. No contest. Controversy level:

  • Malcolm Wellmaker is 10‑0 now and just flatlined Kris Moutinho with a savage right hook. 2:37 into round one. POTN locked.

  • Jose Ochoa needed 11 seconds in round 2 to knock Cody Durden into next week. Second POTN bonus.

  • Other's who left Atlanta with victories were Chiesa, Ricky Simon, and Jamey‑Lyn Horth. Business handled.

The Final Word

UFC Atlanta gave us everything: legends rising, fresh blood making waves, and just enough drama to keep Twitter ( X... but follow me ) talking. If this card is any sign, the second half of 2025 is about to bang. Keep training family. Oss.
